How do you change the purge solenoid valve on an 06 impala?
where is it located? and do i need to take it to a shop to get fixed?
That is an emission system part.
Being an '06, it should be under warranty.
The dealership should fix it free.
How to install an air-admittance valve?
I need help on where to intstall an air-admittance valve. I remodeled an old home and completely gutted the whole thing. I have installed new plumbing throughout and used the old stack location. There is only on bathroom and it includes a shower, a clawfoot tub, a pedestal sink and a toilet. The toilet is located exactly where the stack is. The rest of the fixtures do not have any vertical pipining that is vented to the stack. I know that I need an air-admittance valve, but I am not sure where to intsall it at. I have not hooked up the sink yet and the pipe will go right into the wall. is it possible to install the valve right after the trap, just before the pipe enters the wall? Also, if I use a valve capable of 160 DFU's, will that be sufficient for the entire bathroom? I have the same question with the kitchen. The sink isn't installed yet, but I have the drain opening coming through the drywall with no access behind. Can I install the valve under the sink in the cabinet
install the A A V in a place where you can access it
it must be on each fixture
the toilet must have a vent to the stack ( A A V not allowed )
each A A V must be at minimum 6 inches above the weer of the trap (the highest part of the trap where it turns lateral is the weer )
hope that helps

Can instrumental valve oil for Brass instruments go bad?
For example, if you were to buy 2-3 bottles of valve oil and use one at a time, would the other bottles go bad after a few months? I’m assuming no because those bottles should be in music store shelves for a couple months before someone buys it, and its not food so I don’t think so. But can someone clarify this with me?
No man, those things never go bad. They are incredibly toxic for a purpose my friend.
how do I replace the water shut off valves in my laundry room?
the installers for my new washer and dryer said that the gasket is leaking and they should be "re-packed" by a professional or replaced. And no, they didn't offer to do it for a fee. This looks pretty easy to do. Is is really as easy as going and getting new valve stems, shutting the main water off and replacing them?
It may be easier to just change the valves. That is as long as you have a separate valve with a separate handle for the hot and cold water. All you should need is a wrench and some thread sealant. There are exceptions to the standard threaded (silcock) washing machine spicket. Make sure it is not welded or soldered. Check to see if there are threads at the base of the spicket. If it is threaded there are generally two sizes (3/4 and 1/2 inch). You may want to buy both kind in case its hard for you to determine the size.
You will still have to shut the main water. Remove the old Valves with a wrench, apply the thread sealant (Pipe dope or thread tape) to the root threads of the new spiket and tighten it in with the wrench.
Can you recommend a fuel additive that will clean my valves?
Driving a 1996 Honda Passport (technically, it’s an Isuzu, but with Honda’s logo on it). I can hear more clicking in my engine compartment than there should be, and am worried about my Valves.
Is there really an additive that helps, and doesn’t harm? If I believe the ads, they’re all the best product on the market, so I’m hoping for recommendations from those of you who have actually used the product.
There is an automotive line of products called,’LUCAS’. this line has satisfied me in each and every use. I have them stocked in the shop and stand behind their use!
“BRILLIANT”!!!!!
The water in refrigerator door isn't working, I replace solenoid valve, water switch, maybe water line frozen
Refrigerator G.E. with problems in my water door, reeplace selenoid valve, and door water switch and is not work ing yet, do you think, water lines in the door are frozen, please help me.
at the bottom of your freezer door is a water line connection for the door, disconnect this. Take the line NOT coming out the door and place end in a small pot or glass, and actuate the water dispenser lever. if you have water coming out here, you need to replace the water line inside your door. If not, check all connections prior, including water tank.
It would be highly doubtful you have anything clogging up ANY part of your water line system, except possibly ice somewhere.
If it is ice clogging up, possibly inside freezer door itself, cheapest and most inconvenient fix, albeit possibly temporarily, is to unplug unit, open both doors and blow fan for 24 hours at fridge, to melt any ice.
how much does it cost to adjust the idle air control valve?
Does anyone know how much it will cost roughly if i took my car to a certified mechanic to adjust the idle air control valve?
the idle air control valve in not something you adjust with a screwdriver. It's a totally electro/mechanical device that is not adjustable. It sits on the throttle body ( eg. the old carbuerator) and has a little button that sticks out oh so slightly in the incoming air stream. It causes the butterfly to move and control the idle.
But theres a lot of things up there and we dont know what your problem is so we dont know what to advise you.
You can have it replaced if you want and its going to cost you.
And it may not solve your problem.
How to change a ball valve in a water tank?
Yesterday the ball snapped off the arm, so the valve was left open. I have turned off the water to the tank, and now need to change the ball valve.
Is this a simple procedure? Does the ball need to be of the exact same size?
The ball should be roughly the same size, so it will fit comfortably in place. The ball usually unscrews, so unscrew the remnants, and screw the new ball in its place. If you have to change the whole unit, that’s just as easy. Just buy a new unit, note how you unscrew and ake out the old one, and fit the new one in. If you are unsure about what to buy, take the old unit out and take it to the plumb shop.
I have a 2004 dodge truck and the oil pressure Gage stays on low and the valves are tapping?
The oil pressure gaue stays on low and the Valves are tapping
first off check your oil! that could very well be it. second if that is not it, go see a mechanic. sounds like you are not getting the correct oil pressure and may ultimately blow the engine. the guage says your low and you hear noise, thats not good.
but check your oil first. youd be surprised how often that happens. people sometimes just do not notice a leak or change their oil.
