F25 inductive proximity sensors from Pepperl+Fuchs are used to determine the on/ off position of the ball Valves. The F25 inductive proximity sensors are installed with actuators. The inductive sensors are available in NAMUR, DC and AC types.

This short video was shot the day we had a guest speaker come to the college to present on Fisher FieldVue (digital) positioners. I wanted to demonstrate the hazards ociated with Ball ValvValves on a workbench by chopping a pencil in half with one as it closes.

The series of flashes you see in the first part of the video was me taking still-photos of the valve in five different positions, for use as illustrations in the instrumentation textbook I’m writing.
