Next gun will be 1000psi using a disposable welding bottle as gas source.

Here is a bb gun that i made from scratch, its composed of a homemade Solenoid Valve that is released by a capacitor bank discharging through the coil. I run it at 250psi but it can go over 300psi. This is just a prototype and is not yet portable but is extremely powerful for an airsoft gun as it can put dents in dumbells with only 0.12g bb’s. The solenoid is only small and requires a lot of capacitors to power it, the next one has a larger coil (over 5 times bigger coil) and is designed to use less power to trigger and therefore less capacitors.

This is only part one, in part 2 i will show the bare workings of my next bb gun, along with some speed tests and in part three i will show the gun fully completed, speed tests and accuracy. The gun in this video does not have any body and is breach loaded, the final gun will automatically reload, have interchangeable barrels and will also be durable.

Note: Most of the really powerful bb guns are not portable because they usually run off a compressor, this will totally be portable in the final product and nothing will be taken from another gun, its all going to be homemade.

This video replaces the earlier one where youtube didn’t recognize it as a wide screen video. I improved the graphics as the old one was difficult to see. UPDATE: I stepped the 1/4″ ball valve up to a 1/2″ valve to allow faster release of back pressure. The construction process and design of a coaxial piston cannon. 2″ diameter chamber and 1″ barrel, perfect for C-cell batteries. A massive video I know. I guess building a cannon and explaining the design in one go takes some time. Some test firing to come in a week or so. Still very cold weather here.
